The GATEWAY Programme is a major initiative by the Mastercard Foundation and CcHUB designed to connect 340,000 young Nigerians (ages 18–35) with dignified global remote work and income opportunities. It is fully free, provides access to equipped tech hubs, and supports two specific skill tracks. 


Depending on your starting point, participants are placed into pathways.


Foundations Pathway
Growth Pathway

Foundations Pathway

Target Audience: Absolute beginners or those with basic digital literacy who need to learn high-demand digital skills from scratch.

Skill Tracks: Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, and Video Production & Editing.

Duration: Typically 3 to 6 months of comprehensive training. 

Growth Pathway

Target Audience: Talents and creatives who already possess one of the target digital skills but want to strengthen their portfolios.

Focus Areas: Portfolio enhancement, gig platform navigation, proposal writing, and financial management.

Duration: Typically 6 weeks to 3 months, depending on the learner's pacing.

Work Tools & Infrastructure: Access to fully equipped partner tech hubs with stable internet and electricity across 10 states (Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Abuja FCT, Kano, Kaduna, Rivers, Delta, Edo, and Enugu). 

Financial Access: Tailored services including stipends, pensions, insurance (HMOs), and micro-credit for gig workers. 

Mentorship & Placement: Dedicated portfolio building to help you compete for international clients, and matchmaking with verified employers upon completion.

The CcHUB GATEWAY Programme #GigReadiness Webinar is scheduled for Monday, April 27th (2026), from 12 PM to 1 PM live on YouTube. This free session, part of a 5-year Mastercard Foundation initiative, helps young Nigerians (18–35) access global gig opportunities, focusing on high-demand skills like UI/UX, digital marketing, and video editing.

  • Focus: Bridging the gap between learning digital skills and earning income from global clients, specifically focusing on navigating a trillion-dollar gig economy.
  • What to Expect: Guidance on building a professional portfolio, accessing tools, and developing skills required for international remote work in fields such as graphic design, UI/UX, video production, and digital marketing.
  • Target Audience: Young Nigerians seeking to enter the global gig work market.
  • The GATEWAY program also provides support through fully equipped tech hubs across 10 Nigerian states (Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Kaduna, Kano, Abuja, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Enugu).

  • Goal: To help 340,000 Nigerian youths secure stable and sustainable employment in the gig economy.
  • What it Offers: Training, mentorship, and support for navigating global digital work platforms.
  • Cost: It is a free program with no fees for training, which also provides stipends for transportation and childcare.
